We think that it is important to have aspirations and visions about how to be of greater benefit to others. Although we are still just at the beginning and a very small team, we really hope that we can continue to expand our work in the future. It would also be a big dream to someday hire someone to support the team. Do you want to aspire together with us? Then scroll down. Would you like to help us to realize these aspirations or do you have any other ideas for beautiful projects? Then contact us.
Lifesaving & Animal Welfare
For some time now we have been aspiring to practice the old Buddhist tradition of "saving lives" here as well. The Hof Kuppen has largely unused pastures, which we would like to rent as a refuge for some animals (such as cows, horses, pigs, etc.), which would otherwise expect a painful life or even death. For realizing this, we still lack the financial background (for the purchase, veterinary costs, feed, etc.), time and labor for regular care as well as good fences.
Anyone who has lived or traveled in Asia for a long time has seen a lot of suffering. It often hits the little ones especially hard. We believe that especially a good education can lead to long-term benefits and fundamental change within families and communities. Once we have the financial foundation, we would like to take on long-term sponsorships for children who would otherwise be denied access to education and a prospect for a better future.
There are now many videos of Do Tulku Rinpoche's inspirational teachings. Sometimes we think that it would be nice to record his teachings also in writing. For this, we first need people who transcribe those oral lectures and edit them.
We would like to provide more people with the facilities for short and long-term retreats by building more retreat cabins or caravans in quiet spots in the beautiful natrue. For that, we need more funding but also support for the technical equipment and interiors.
Hof Kuppen would provide us with some land on which we could garden organically. It would be our wish to be able to offer the participants of our courses and retreats vegetables and salads from our own garden. For this, we need support from people with some experience and time to work in the garden. If you come here to work in the garden, we will provide you with accommodation and meals for free.
One of our "wildest dreams" is an open stupa garden on the grounds of Hof Kuppen. It should become a place of rest, contemplation, meditation and inspiration. How exactly we can achieve this in terms of costs, logistics, and permits is still completely unclear. 😉
At this point, we would also like to draw attention to the project of our wonderful neighbors who are currently working on the construction of a stupa. Contact www.halscheid-retreat.de for more information.
