Tromge Shamatha
Shamatha meditation is a method of training the mind’s focus and attention so that the habit of conceptual wandering can be overcome. During this weekend, Lama Sherab Dolma will teach us a special method of shamatha meditation which comes from the Tromge tradition and was revealed by the great tertön Tromge Khachog Wangpo.
The sequence of methods of the Shamata Tromge contains not only techniques that increase the capacity of the dharma practitioner to focus, but also provide skills that support development stages practices and meditations that are centered on resting the mind. Since we do not know if and when Lama Sherab will be able to visit us again, this is a particularly precious opportunity to receive these special teachings from an extraordinary practitioner and great teacher.
Ordained by H.E. Chagdud Tulku Rinpoche in 2002, Lama Sherab Drolma has become a respected teacher with obvious depth of guru yoga and spiritual discipline. She served Rinpoche as his translator, personal attendant, and as an administrator of his dharma activities.
She is a resident lama of Khadro Ling, and travels throughout Brazil supporting practitioners through teaching, spiritual counseling, and practice. She is also an extraordinary lama dancer who authentically expresses the meaning of meditation through movement. Lama Sherab occasionally visits and teaches in the United States and and elsewhere.
