It is our great delight to invite you to this year’s ngöndro retreat led by Do Tulku Rinpoche. This is a precious opportunity to spend a week receiving teachings on specific parts of our ngöndro, practicing them under Rinpoche’s close guidance and within the support of a group of fellow retreatants. It will also be possible for those wishing to begin their ngröndo to receive introductory instructions from Rinpoche.
This retreat will not have any specific ngöndro tradition as its focus and is open to anyone practicing or wishing to start ngöndro. Participants are encouraged to indicate the practice on which they would like to receive instructions (i.e., Four Thoughts, Refuge, Bodhichitta, Vajrasattva, Mandala Offering, or Guru Yoga), according to which the content of the retreat will be arranged. Our days together will include teachings with Do Tulku Rinpoche, group practice sessions where we will use our individual ngöndro texts, as well as ample time for our personal practices.

📍 Retreat Location & Accommodation
Rumi House in Burscheid, Germany.
This architectural retreat home, situated in nature, will host both the teachings and our personal accommodation in the same location, making it a perfect container for this retreat. Click here to get an impression of the house.
Accommodation fee: between €35 and €40 per person/night, with the exact individual rate depending on our group size. There are 24 available beds. Room sizes vary, but most are shared with between 2-4 people. Rooms will be assigned at random.
💶 Retreat fee
Retreat fee: 255 EUR. This contribution helps to cover the costs of hosting this event. Your lodging and meal fees will be additional.
If you wish, you are welcome to offer more according to your capacity. Additionally, participants are encouraged to make a personal offering in cash to Rinpoche at the conclusion of the retreat.
We never want financial circumstances to prevent anyone from attending. If you are unable to contribute the standard retreat fee, please write to us at info@aryatara.net, and we will gladly find a solution.
🍴 Meals
Meal fee: 105 EUR. Vegetarian breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks are included.
👯 Volunteer opportunities
We have 3 to 4 volunteer positions open. As a volunteer, you will help with preparing the teaching space & shrine, making offerings of food and drink, helping the cooks, setting up for group meals, doing groceries, cleaning chores, providing technical support, and anything else that is needed on the ground during the time of the event. It is a wonderful opportunity to help facilitate an auspicious environment for the retreat, learn how to integrate our Dharma practice in activity, and work together in a joyful team.
The retreat fee will be waived for volunteers, with only the accommodation and meal fees needing to be covered. Volunteers are asked to be present at the retreat house on the morning of 26th October, no later than 11 AM. Rinpoche will teach in English. There will be no translation for this in-person event.
✍️ How to join
Register for your retreat before 5 October by paying the retreat fee below. Your final remaining accommodation + meal fees will be invoiced to you after registration closes. Upon registration, you will receive a confirmation email with a link to a form through which we will collect your personal info and wishes for this retreat. Please don’t forget to fill this out!
